Terms of Service

1. Who can use MyPathSocials
MyPathSocials is a social platform for children and teenagers aged 5–17. Adults may only use the platform as registered guardians to oversee their child's account. Adult users cannot post, comment, or interact with other users' content.
2. Account creation
You must provide accurate information when creating an account, including your real date of birth. If you are under 13, your account requires approval from a parent or guardian before you can use it.
3. Guardian rights and responsibilities
Parents and guardians are responsible for monitoring their child's activity on the platform. Guardians have access to a dashboard showing their child's posts, comments, and any flagged content. Guardians may approve or reject content submitted by their child.
Parental consent and verification
For users under 13, we require verifiable parental consent. Our current method sends an approval request to a guardian email address provided at registration. This method is recognised for platforms that keep content internal, do not advertise, and do not share data with third parties.
We are committed to continually improving how we verify parental consent. We are actively evaluating additional and stronger verification methods — including those that remain free or very low cost for families — and we will update this policy and notify users when we adopt them.
If you would like a stronger form of verification for your own family — including a video call or signed consent — please contact mypath@findyourpath.life.
4. Content rules
You agree not to post, comment, or share content that:
- Is threatening, harassing, or hateful toward any person or group
- Contains profanity, sexual content, or violence
- Reveals your own or another person's personal information (phone number, address, email, school)
- Impersonates another person
- Contains spam, scams, or links to unsafe websites
5. Moderation
We use automated filters and human moderators to review content. Content may be hidden, removed, or flagged at our discretion. Serious violations may result in account suspension or permanent ban. Reports from users are reviewed by our moderation team as quickly as possible.
6. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
7. Account termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Guardians may request deletion of their child's account by contacting us.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of MyPathSocials after changes means you accept the updated terms.
9. Automated filtering and moderation limitations
MyPathSocials uses automated content filters and human moderators to help keep the platform safe. However, no filtering system is perfect. We do not guarantee that:
- All inappropriate content will be detected before it is posted
- All reports will be reviewed within a specific timeframe
- All harmful user behavior will be prevented
We aim to review reports as quickly as possible and to remove content that violates these terms. Response times may vary based on volume and staff availability.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MyPathSocials and its operators, directors, employees, and volunteers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform. This includes, but is not limited to, damages arising from:
- Content posted by other users (including harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content)
- Any failure of automated filters or moderation systems to detect or remove such content
- User interactions, whether on the platform or off it, arising from connections made on the platform
- Any interruption, suspension, or termination of service
- Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers or user data, despite our reasonable security measures
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) the minimum amount permitted by applicable law.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, the above limitations may not apply to you.
11. Reporting safety concerns
If you experience or witness content or behavior that concerns you, report it in the app using the flag icon, or email us at mypath@findyourpath.life. We take reports seriously and act on them promptly, but we cannot guarantee a specific response time.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
