Help for parents & guardians
Everything you can see, review, and control on MyPathSocials.
Setting up your account
Step 1 — Register as a parent
Go to /parent-register.php and create an account with:
- A username (3–20 characters)
- Your email — must match the guardian email your child used at signup
- A password (min 8 characters)
Step 2 — Auto-link to your child
If your email matches the guardian email on your child's account, the link happens automatically. You'll be taken to your parent dashboard right after registration.
Step 3 — Open your dashboard
Click "Family" in the top navigation, or visit /parent-dashboard.php.
What you can see
- Every post — including pending, approved, and rejected
- Every comment — same detail
- Every message — full DM conversations your child is in
- Quiz progress — for kids, their stars, streak, and badges
- Safety flags — any content flagged by our moderators
- Activity history — recent actions logged by the platform
What you can control
Approve or reject content
Kids under 13 can't post directly. Their content goes to your dashboard first:
- See the post with a preview
- Click ✓ Approve to publish it
- Click ✗ Reject to hide it
Same for comments. Nothing goes live until you say so.
Hide any published content
If your child posts something you later want removed, click Hide in the dashboard. The post disappears from all feeds immediately. You can unhide any time.
Adjust settings per child
Click Settings next to any child to control:
- Allow images — turn off to block all photo uploads
- Allow direct messages — turn off to disable all chat
- Daily post cap — limit how many posts they can make per day (default 20)
- Auto-approve delay — how long a pending post waits before auto-approving (default 24 hours)
- Weekly digest — summary email every Monday morning
Disable specific conversations
In your dashboard, click Read next to any DM thread. You can click Disable conversation to stop both users from sending new messages. Existing messages stay visible.
What we never do
- We don't show your child's content publicly
- We don't sell data
- We don't run ads or track users across the web
- We don't require you to download an app
- We don't store ID documents
- We don't charge for verification
Frequently asked questions
What if my child lies about their age at signup?
We use their birth date to determine their tier automatically. If they enter an incorrect age, contact us at mypath@findyourpath.life and we'll adjust the account.
What if I don't approve their post in time?
By default, posts auto-approve after 24 hours. You can change this delay in their settings, or turn auto-approve off entirely (not recommended — kids get frustrated by long waits).
Can I delete my child's account?
Yes. Email us at mypath@findyourpath.life from your registered parent email. We delete the account and all associated data within 30 days.
Can I request my child's data?
Yes. Same email address. We'll provide a complete export within 30 days.
What if my child reports something and nothing happens?
Every report goes to our admin queue. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team as quickly as possible. If you're concerned about response time, email us directly at mypath@findyourpath.life with the report details.
I want stronger verification. What can you do?
We currently use a guardian-email approval process (FTC-recognized for platforms with internal-only data). If you'd prefer stronger confirmation — a video call, phone call, or signed consent note — email us. We provide this without additional charge. See our verification page for details.
