Privacy Policy

Our promise
MyPathSocials is designed for children and teens. We take privacy seriously. We do not sell data, we do not run ads, and we do not build profiles for advertisers. Nothing your child shares is ever public.
What we collect
- Account information: username, email address, date of birth, and (for under-13s) a guardian email
- Content: posts, comments, images, and profile information you choose to share
- Activity: likes, follows, reports, and moderation history
- Technical: IP address and browser info for security (rate limiting, session protection)
What we do NOT collect
- No third-party tracking cookies
- No advertising identifiers
- No location data
- No contact list access
- No device fingerprinting
How we use it
We use your information to operate the platform, verify accounts, moderate content, keep users safe, and communicate about account activity. We do not use it for marketing purposes.
Who can see your content
Content on MyPathSocials is only visible to other logged-in kids and teens on the platform, and (for under-13s) to their guardian. Nothing is visible to anonymous visitors, search engines, or the general public.
Children's privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR provisions for children. For users under 13, we require verifiable parental consent before the account becomes active. Our current method is a guardian-email approval process, which is recognised by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission for platforms that collect only limited, internal-use data.
Our verification method
When a child under 13 registers, we send an approval email to the guardian email address they provide. Only after the guardian clicks the approval link is the account activated. This method — often referred to as "Email Plus" — is accepted because:
- Nothing the child posts is publicly visible
- No personal information is shared with third parties
- No advertising or cross-site tracking is used
- Content remains inside the gated platform
Parents and guardians who wish for a stronger form of verification — such as a video call, phone confirmation, or signed consent — may contact us at mypath@findyourpath.life. We provide this without additional charge.
Evolving best practice
Privacy law for children is developing rapidly, and verification technologies are improving. We are actively researching stronger and more accessible methods — including options that remain free or low cost for families. When we update our verification approach, we will notify users and publish the change on this page and on our verification page.
Guardian rights
Parents and guardians can:
- Review everything their child posts or comments
- Reject content before it goes live
- Request deletion of their child's account and all associated data
- Contact us with any privacy concern
Data retention
We keep account data while the account is active. When an account is deleted, we remove personal information within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it (for example, for safety investigations).
Your rights
You (or your child's guardian) can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing mypath@findyourpath.life.
